The match may have been tight on the scoreboard, but it was rich with moments that reminded fans why these players remain beloved.
Chelsea’s side, featuring Petr Cech in goal flanked by John Terry and Gary Cahill, was bolstered by a midfield of John Obi Mikel, Claude Makelele, and Ramires.

On the wings, Eden Hazard showcased his old flair, jinking past defenders and eliciting cheers with each dribble, while Diego Costa brought his trademark intensity, tangling with Liverpool defenders and stirring tension with physical play.
Though Chelsea dominated possession, clear-cut chances were rare. Costa’s effort was blocked, Terry had a header narrowly off, and Hazard was denied by a sharp save from substitute keeper Sander Westerveld after being slipped in one-on-one.
Then, in the final minutes, Babel broke the deadlock, latching onto a quick counter and dispatching a cool finish past Čech.
Despite the narrow loss, Chelsea fans had cause to celebrate: a parade of legends, a charged atmosphere, and characters who reminded everyone what made them stars.
