Musiala rescues Bayern Munich from defeat in Der Klassiker

Jamal Musiala’s late goal sent shick waves down the spines of the “Yellow Wall’ – Signal Iduna Park’s famous stand on Saturday night.

Borrusia Dortmund were alraedy seeing victory on sight over Bayern Munich but Jamal Musiala’s 85th equaliser dashed the hopes of the home side.

The 136th installment of the Der Klassiker ended in a one-all draw at the Signal Iduna Park in front of over 80,000 fans.

The Marquee fixture came at a perfect time. While Bayern Munich looked to extend their lead on the table.

Borussia Dortmund on the other hand hoped to extend their unbeaten run to 8 matches.

Bayern Munich made their intention known early in the match as they created chances to go ahead.

Gregor Kobel had clear sight of Leroy Sane ‘s strike from range and made a comfortable save to deny the German winger.

The home side were under more or less a siege until Jamie Gittens got a goal against the run of play to give the home side the lead.

Manuel Neuer’s feet was planted to the ground as he watched Gittens finish his solo run with a strike into the left side of goal.

Bayern Munich’s chances to get a goal or more reduced after Harry Kane was substituted due to injury.

Thomas Muller who replaced Kane got into action almost immediately as Kobel showed great reflex to sace his goal-bound header.

The second half was quite balanced in terms of the overall play.  Both sides created chances to score.

Thomas Muller almost restored parity for the visitors but once again Kobel denied the German legend from close range.

Marcel Sabitzer’s almost scored for Dortmund from a well-taken shot but Neuer timed his movement well to deny the Austrian midfielder.

The home side were already staring at victory before Musiala broke their hearts.

The 21-year-old forward meet Olise’s sublime cross with a fine header to secure a late goal and a point a point for Vincent Kompany.
