Atlético Madrid’s title hopes suffered a significant blow as they fell 2-1 to Getafe at the Coliseum.

Atlético, with only three changes from their midweek loss to Real Madrid, struggled to find their rhythm. Antoine Griezmann, who had scored seven goals in his previous eight league matches against Getafe, was largely contained.
Getafe, meanwhile, put in a stalwart defensive performance and made the most of their rare entries into the Atleti box with Nigerian forward Christantus Uche impressing with his physicality and hold-up play. He had Getafe’s best chance of the first half, heading a free kick straight into Jan Oblak’s arms.

After Alexander Sørloth gave Atlético the lead from the penalty spot, Mauro Arambarri equalized with a free kick and then scored the winner with a low shot.
The final whistle brought massive cheers as Getafe secured a crucial win and dealt a significant blow to Atlético’s title hopes.
