Ruud Van Nisterooy tasted defeat for the first time as Leicester City’s boss on Saturday evening with a massive loss up north.

The Dutch manager suffered a humiliating 4-0 at St. James’ Park as his unbeaten start to life at Leicester City came to end after three matches in charge.

The Toon Army were more than a handful for the visitors on the night as they dominated play with nine shots on targets – eight more than Van Nisterooy’s side.

Jacob Murphy bagged a brace – one each in the first half and second half of the match.

The English midfielder rifled a brilliant strike from outside the box into the bottom-right corner to give the home side the lead.

Newcastle United doubled their lead two minutes into the second half as Bruno Guimaraes finished off Lewis Hall goal-bound header from close range.

Alexander Isak got on the scoresheet moments later as he buried the ball into the back of the net from Lewis Hall’s cross.

Newcastle were on rampage while Leicester looked lost and helpless.

Jacob Murphy got his brace on the hour mark with similar fashion as his first goal but was assisted by Alexander Isak this time.

Leicester held on to stop the flow of goals as the match ended 4-0 in favour of the home side.

The Foxes were without key players: Wilfred Ndidi, Issahaku Fatawu, Boubakary Soumare among others due to injuries.

The loss put Leicester City in 16th place on the log – two places off the drop zone.
