Nigeria international Omorinsola Babajide has celebrated winning her first Serie A Women’s league title after an emotional social media post reflecting on her journey from cage football in Brixton to becoming a champion in Italy.
The forward shared her excitement after helping her club secure the league crown in Rome, describing the achievement as a reward for years of persistence, sacrifice, patience and self belief.
“CHAMPIONSSSS! From cage football in Brixton to winning the Serie A Women’s league in Rome,” Babajide wrote.
The Nigerian star also opened up about the challenges she faced growing up, admitting she once felt people from her community were not expected to succeed at the highest level.
“Growing up I always felt like we weren’t meant to make it out of where I’m from but we break barriers and change the odds regardless,” she added.
Babajide thanked her community, fans and loved ones for supporting her journey while encouraging young people never to stop believing in their dreams.
“Guys, always dream big and never give up, you never know how close you are towards achieving your goals,” she said.
The title is the first league championship of Babajide’s professional career and adds another milestone to the rise of the Nigerian winger, who has continued to impress in European women’s football.
