Former Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has slammed Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami teammates for the team’s ouster from the ongoing FIFA Club World Cup.
Inter Miami suffered a 4-0 loss to reigning European champions Paris Saint-Germain in the second round of the competition.
However, Messi’s former teammate, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, has exonerated Messi but placed the blame on his teammates as he labelled them as statues.
It wasn’t Messi who lost; It was Inter Miami. Messi plays with statues not teammates. He’s surrounded by players who run as if they were carrying bags of cement.
The Messi-led team conceded all four goals in the first half of the match as PSG convincingly outclassed their opponent.
Lionel Messi and his former Barcelona teammates, Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets, and Javier Mascherano, as coach, bowed out of the competition after a quite impressive display in the group stage.
On the flip side, PSG will take on Bayern Munich in a blockbuster European clash on Saturday, July 5, at the magnificent Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
