Former Chelsea playmaker Joe Cole has publicly advised Manchester United to sack manager Ruben Amorim following the Red Devils’ latest loss.
Cole’s comments came in reaction to United’s disappointing 3-1 defeat away to Brentford on Saturday.
The result means Amorim is yet to register consecutive victories since taking charge at Old Trafford.

Brentford’s win was secured by a brace from Igor Thiago and a stoppage-time strike from Mathias Jensen, after Benjamin Sesko had pulled a goal back for United before the break.
Captain Bruno Fernandes missed a penalty in the second half that would have levelled the score.
Speaking on TNT Sports, Cole suggested that the failure of the project under Amorim is now clear.
“You know I don’t like saying that, but for him [Ruben Amorim] as well, he was the bright spark, people were talking about him like the messiah,” Cole said.

He reiterated his belief that United should have chosen a different path:
“I thought Gareth Southgate was the perfect man for the job in terms of building a culture and understanding the players. They went with Amorim, and it doesn’t look like it’s working.”
Manchester United host Sunderland next weekend and travel to Anfield to face Liverpool after the international break.
