Stanley Nwabali didn’t make the final list of nominees for the 2024 CAF Men’s Goalkeeper of the Year Award.
The continent’s football governing body unveiled the list of goalkeepers that will contend for the price on Thursday.
Nwabali’s exclusion from the final list comes as a surprise given his brilliant performance en route to Super Eagles second place finish at the 2024 AFCON in Cote D’Ivoire.
The Super Eagles first choice goalkeeper kept four clean sheets in seven matches as Nigeria reached the final of the competition.
Nwabali’s heroics got to it’s peak in the semi-finals where he made two saves in the penalty shootout win over South Africa.
The 28-year-old helped Chippa United remain in the PSL as they finished 12th on the log after the 2023/2024 season.
Stanley Nwabali has four clean sheets in nine league matches for Chippa United In the current season.
