Nigerian professional wrestler Oba Femi continued his remarkable rise in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) after defeating Brock Lesnar in a Hell in a Cell match at SummerSlam 2026.
The blockbuster main event took place on Saturday night at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, United States, where the Lagos-born wrestler emerged victorious over the former WWE Champion in his first appearance inside the iconic steel structure.
The defeat marked Brock Lesnar’s first-ever loss in a Hell in a Cell match.
Following the contest, Lesnar paid tribute to his opponent, publicly endorsing Oba Femi as the future of WWE while describing himself as the past.
Reacting to the endorsement, Oba Femi admitted he was surprised by the gesture but said the respect between both competitors had always been mutual.
“The hug and public endorsement was definitely a sword and I didn’t see that coming,” Oba Femi said.
“I know that deep down, Brock has always respected me and he knows that deep down, I respect him as well.”
Oba Femi’s victory caps an extraordinary debut year on WWE’s main roster. Earlier this year, he defeated Lesnar at WrestleMania before capturing the King of the Ring tournament in June.
The latest triumph further cements the Nigerian wrestler’s status as one of WWE’s fastest-rising stars and strengthens his position among the company’s leading attractions.
