Ola Aina and Taiwo Awoniyi left Old Trafford with smiles on their faces as Nottingham Forest earned a famous win over Manchester United at Old Trafford.

While Ola Aina was impressive and featured for the entirety of the match, Awoniyi came on very late in the game for Calum Hudson-Odoi.

The Tricky Trees secured their first win at Old Trafford on 30 years with a 3-2 victory on Saturday night.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s men came into the match on the back of a 3-0 loss to the rivals of their opponent – Manchester City on Wednesday.

Nottingham Forest demonstrated their intent to secure a positive result by taking an early lead.

Nikola Milenkovic found himself unmarked in the box and confidently planted a header into the back of the net, leaving Andre Onana helpless.

Manchester United’s first shot on target fell to Alejandro Garnacho. The Argentine winger placed a perfect ball to the far corner but the goalkeeper denied him.

Fortunately, Rasmus Hojlund restored parity for the Red Devils moments later from a rebound in the box on the 18th minute.

Bruno Fernandes almost put the Red Devils ahead just before halftime but his shot from range rattles the bar.

Nottingham Forest

The away side survived Manchester United’s first half onslaught as they kept the scoreline unchanged going into the break.

Unfortunately, Andre Onana’s howler from Morgan Gibbs-White weak shot gave the away side the lead once again two minutes into the second half.

New Zealand lanky striker Chris Wood increased the lead for the visitors via a header from a cross on the 54th minute.

With their backs against the wall, the home side surged forward to reduce the deficit.

Amad Diallo’s cut-back pass found Bruno Fernandes in space as he buried the ball into the left corner of goal.

Matz Sels made a fantastic save to deny Diogo Dalot’s header from landing in the back of the net.

The visitors held on to the end as they left Old Trafford with maximum points as they hand Reuben Amorim his first home loss as Manchester United manager
