Ola Aina describes Super Eagles teammates with one word each in fun Q&A

Nottingham Forest defender, Ola Aina recently showcased his familiarity with his Super Eagles teammates in a fun one-word challenge, describing each player with a single term that best captures their essence on and off the pitch.

The segment, shared in a video by ESPN Africa on X, highlighted Aina’s close bond with the squad and his insight into their personalities.

Aina, who switched allegiance from England to Nigeria in 2017, kicked off the quick-fire session by calling striker Victor Osimhen a “bags-man,” a nod to his consistent goal-scoring prowess.

Ademola Lookman was described as “pidgin,” with Aina cheekily adding that he would understand why. His longtime friend Alex Iwobi earned the word “technique” for his refined football skills.

Calvin Bassey was dubbed a “live wire,” as Aina confessed he had many words for the energetic Fulham defender. Describing himself as the “vibes” of the team, Aina highlighted his role in keeping spirits high.

Kelechi Iheanacho was referred to as “the glue,” likely for his unifying presence within the squad, while captain William Troost-Ekong was simply “the leader.”

Brentford’s Frank Onyeka retained his popular nickname “Tank,” and Victor Boniface was humorously called “joke man” for his playful personality.

Wilfred Ndidi was labeled “workaholic,” a reflection of his relentless playing style, while Semi Ajayi was described as “knowledge” for his experience and composure.

Goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali was unsurprisingly tagged “brick wall,” and Moses Simon earned the name “jetpack” for his blistering speed.

Samuel Chukwueze’s skill was captured in the word “flair,” and Joe Aribo rounded off the list with the term “tekky,” a slang word often used to describe technically sound players.

The lighthearted feature offered fans a unique look into the team dynamics and camaraderie that exist within the Super Eagles camp.
