Super Falcons defender Ashleigh Plumptre urged her team to focus on the present at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, emphasizing a match-by-match approach over chasing a 10th title.
The Al-Ittihad of Saudi Arabia centre-back highlighted the squad’s potential to win every game.
“I don’t really like to talk about the future too much, I aim to think about the present as much as possible,” she told the Super Falcons media.
“To take it one game at a time, and have the believe that we can win every game that we play.” Set to make her second WAFCON appearance after debuting in Morocco in 2022, where Nigeria placed fourth, Plumptre is confident heading into the tournament.
Justine Madugu’s Super Falcons will kick off their campaign against Tunisia in Group B on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca.
