Osimhen continues goal-scoring, Lookman endures tough home debut as Betis claim vengeance on Atletico Madrid
Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen continued his goal-scoring form in the Turkish Super League as he scored in the road win against Caykur Rizespor on Sunday evening.
The 27-year-old striker scored his ninth goal of the campaign in the 3-0 win over the host to stay on top of the Turkish Super League.
Victor Osimhen scored the last goal of the night as he went past a couple of defenders and the goalkeeper before rolling the ball into an empty net.
Osimhen gas now scored in three consecutive league matches for the defending champions since he returned from the Africa Cup of Nations.
His goal on the night takes him to seventh place on the scorers chart with nine goals from 15 matches.
Osimhen’s Super Eagles teammate, Paul Onuachu, is joint-top on the chart with 15 goals alongside Istanbul Basaksehir’s Eldor Shomurodov.
Meanwhile, Ademola Lookman marked his home debut for Atletico Madrid with a loss on Sunday night.
The Super Eagles forward started in front alongside Antoine Griezmann after a fantastic debut against Real Betis on Thursday night.
Lookman was on for 70 minutes; he had a goal disallowed for offside and picked up a yellow card as Real Betis avenged their 5-0 loss to the Rojiblancos in the Copa Del Rey three nights ago.
Former Manchester United winger, Antony, scored the only goal of the tie in the 28th minute to give Real Betis a famous win over the host.
