Mutiu Adepoju has revealed that Super Eagles first-choice striker, Victor Osimhen is not fit to be captain of the men’s national football team.
The Former Super Eagles midfielder, Mutiu Adepoju, believes Victor Osimhen does not possess the requisite qualities to be captain of the team.
Adepoju added that leadership goes beyond talent and whoever is in that position must be able to unite the team on and off the pitch.
He also revealed that the individual must be willing to tolerate others and have the right temperament as well.
The former Real Madrid and Real Betis midfielder shared his thoughts in a recent chat via PMParrot.

Victor currently serves as one of the assistant captains in the Super Eagles and was appointed a few weeks before the start of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Adepoju’s comments could be traced to Osimhen’s public outburst on former Super Eagles coach Finidi George and his on-pitch disagreement with his Super Eagles teammates in a round of 16 fixture at the Africa Cup of Nations.
