Former Super Falcons defender Osinachi Ohale has completed a move to Italian club Como 1907 following her departure from Mexican side Pachuca.
The Serie A Femminile club confirmed the signing on Thursday, October 8, 2026, welcoming the experienced Nigerian centre-back as she begins a new chapter in her club career.
Ohale, 34, returns to Italian football after previously representing AS Roma in 2020. Her arrival adds significant experience to Como’s defensive options, having played professionally across Europe, North America and Mexico.
Como 1907 technical director Nils Nielsen described the Nigerian as “a player of great experience and an excellent defender”, highlighting her more than 15 years of service to the Nigerian national team, including a spell as captain.
Nielsen also praised her defensive qualities, particularly her ability to handle one-on-one situations and aerial challenges, expressing confidence that her experience would be valuable to the team.
Speaking after completing the move, Ohale expressed her excitement about returning to Italy and her readiness to contribute to the club.
“I am happy to return to Italy and live this new experience here in Como. The feelings are very positive. I am ready to put myself at the disposal of the coach to help the team,” she said.
The versatile defender, who can operate both as a centre-back and right-back, began her career in Nigeria with Rivers Angels and Delta Queens before embarking on an international journey that included spells with Houston Dash in the United States, Vittsjö GIK and Växjö DFF in Sweden, and CD Tacón, Madrid CFF and Alavés in Spain.
She most recently played for Pachuca in Mexico before securing her return to European football.
At international level, Ohale recently retired from Super Falcons duty after an illustrious 16-year career with Nigeria. She earned 86 caps and represented the country at four FIFA Women’s World Cups in 2011, 2015, 2019 and 2023.
The Abuja-born defender was also part of Nigeria’s historic dominance at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, winning five titles in 2010, 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2024.
Her move to Como marks another milestone in a career defined by longevity, versatility and success at the highest level of African women’s football.
