Paris Saint-Germain have completed the signing of Ferran Torres from Barcelona, confirming the World Cup winner as their new attacking option ahead of the 2026/27 season. The forward has signed with the club until 2031 and will wear the number 9 shirt.
A club statement read: “Paris Saint-Germain is delighted to announce it has secured the services of Ferran Torres.” The Spain international joins for a total package of around €50 million.
Reports had previously indicated that Torres communicated to Barcelona his desire to join PSG, having already reached an agreement over personal terms. Barcelona were prepared to sanction his exit this summer, with his deal at Camp Nou due to expire next summer.
The move reunites Torres with coach Luis Enrique, who gave him his international debut for Spain back in 2020. Speaking on the transfer, Torres said he was “delighted to be beginning a new adventure at such an ambitious club as Paris St Germain.”
He also thanked the club’s hierarchy for the opportunity, adding: “I’d like to thank President Nasser Al-Khelaifi, Luis Campos and coach Luis Enrique for giving me the opportunity to join the team.”
PSG were in the market for a new attacker after the departure of Gonçalo Ramos to AC Milan this summer, while Randal Kolo Muani, on loan at Tottenham last season, has joined Juventus permanently. Torres started his career as a winger but has been used primarily as a No. 9 during his last two seasons at Barcelona.
He netted 21 times in 49 appearances for the Catalan club last season and provided three assists as Barcelona retained their LaLiga title. Torres arrives in the French capital fresh off scoring the winning goal for Spain in the World Cup final against Argentina last month, a strike that capped his transformation from squad player to national hero.
