Unfortunately, Chevalier was beaten moments later as Micky van der Ven pounced on a rebound to give Tottenham Hotspur the lead five minutes into the first half break.

Tottenham started the second half the better side again and it took only three minutes before they doubled their lead. Newly-appointed captain, Christian Romero powered a sublime header imto the back of the net from a cross into the box.

Luis Enrique’s men looked lost until the introduction of Spanish midfielder, Fabian Ruiz, Lee Kang-In and Goncalo Ramos.

While the Lily Whites looked “home and dry”, the Parisiens pushed back and got a consolation with five minutes left on the clock.

The Parisiens restored parity in added time of the 90 as Goncalo Ramos met Ousmane Dembele’s cross with a powerful header to level the scoreline and send the match into penalties.
