Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Bayern Munich threw caution to the wind in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final in Paris on Tuesday night.
It was a record-setting night as both European heavyweights treated fans and neutrals to a spectacle in a high-stakes semi-final encounter.Bayern Munich were without head coach Vincent Kompany but the German champions were restless as they stood toe to toe with the defending champions.
A repeat of the “COVID” Champions League final, PSG came into the tie on the back of a comfortable win over Angers while the visitors stepped into Paris after winning the Bundesliga with four matches to spare.
For the first time in the history of Champions League semi-finals, five goals were scored in the first half as PSG took a 3-2 lead over Bayern Munich.
Harry Kane scored the opener from the penalty spot in the 17th minute but Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and João Neves put the hosts ahead after 33 minutes.
Michael Olise restored parity four before the break but Ousmane Dembele restored the lead for the Parisians from the spot.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Dembele bagged a brace each in the nine-goal spectacle leaving the tie open after a 5-4 win for Luis Enrique’s men.
