Super Eagles midfielder Raphael Onyedika is a champion again.

Onyedika put in a commendable performance on Sunday in Club Brugge’s Belgian Cup win over Anderlecht.

The 24-year-old midfielder played for 74 minutes in the 2-1 victory.

Belgian 21-year-old striker Romeo Vermant secured the cup win as he bagged a brace in a space of 20 minutes across the halves of the match.

Hugo Siquet placed a simple pass to Vermant who tapped the ball into an empty net to give Club Brugge the lead.

The final was keenly contested as both goalkeepers made important saves before and after Vermant’s opener.

Anderlecht goalkeeper Colin Coosemans kept like a Salmon to deny  Christos Tzolis’s attempt to increase the lead late on the game.

English forward of Nigerian descent, Samuel Edozie, rounded Nordin Jackers before placing a pass for Luis Vasquez who tapped the ball into an empty net to reduce the deficit in added time.

Club Brugge held on to their lead till the blast of the final whistle to become the new Belgian Cup champions.

Consequently, Raphael Onyedika has now won two titles with Club Brugge since his arrival in 2022 – Belgian Pro League in 2024, and the Belgian Cup, 2025.
