Remo Stars are back to winning in the league as the defending champions made Wikki Tourists’ visit to Abeokuta end on a sad note.
The last two league fixtures for the defending champions have ended in defeats to Plateau United and Abia Warriors.
However, the Sky Blue Stars secured maximum points over the Tourists despite the absence of the head coach, Daniel Ogunmodede, who is away on national duties with the Super Eagles.
Two second-half goals from new signing Adama Goita and a late goal from Alex Owoyah sealed the win for the defending champions on their temporary home ground.
Goita gave Remo Stars the lead in the 79th minute as he slammed the ball into the back of the net at the back post off a cross by Ibrahim Abubakar.
Alex Oyowah sealed the win as he poked home a dropped ball by the goalkeeper to seal the win in added time of the 90.
The win takes Remo Stars to 9th on the Nigeria Premier Football League table with 10 points from six matches.
