Cristiano Ronaldo misses out on winning a trophy for Al Nassr for the fourth time after losing to Gamba Osaka in the final of the AFC 2 Champions League.
Ronaldo was hoping to win his first major silvareware for Al Nassr three years after his arrival but fell short once again.
The 41-year-old played for 90 minutes as Al Nassr suffered a 1-0 loss to Gamba Osaka on Saturday night in Riyadh.
Deniz Hummert scored the only goal of the tie on the half hour mark as Gamba Osaka sealed a narrow win over the “hosts”.
Al Nassr reached the final of the competition without losing a match until the most important one.
Despite dominating the tie from the first blast of the whistle to the last, Al Nassr couldn’t breach the defense line of the Japanese side.
Eighteen-year-ood Rui Araki made six saves on the night as Gamba Osaka survived Al Nasser’s onslaught on the night.
Ronaldo has now lost four finals but will hope to win the Saudi Pro League with Al Nassr a win away from clinching their first title since 2019.
