Liverpool have pathed ways with its first team head coach Arne Slot following a disappointing 2025/2026 campaign.
The 2024/2025 Premier League champions confirmed the sacking of the Dutch manager in a statement via its social media pages on Saturday afternoon.
Liverpool FC can confirm Arne Slot is to depart his role as head coach with immediate effect and that the process to appoint a successor is under way.
He leaves with a Premier League title to his name and our deepest gratitude and appreciation.
Arne Slot won the Premier League in his debut season as he helped the Reds clinch their 20th League title.
However, Liverpool had quite a disappointing title defence despite the arrival of key summer signings.
Liverpool under Arne Slot finished fifth in the league, crashed out of the domestic cups and reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
The Reds struggled with injuries, loss of form of key players and low impact from the summer signings including Florian Wirtz, Alexander Isak and Milos Kerkez.
Meanwhile, former Bournemouth manager, Andoni Iroala is the leading candidate to take over at Anfield as Liverpool look to return to high press and quick transition football they witnessned in Arne Slot’s first season and Jürgen Klopp’s time at the club.
