Arsenal star, Bukayo Saka has spoken admiringly of Real Madrid forward Vinícius Júnior ahead of their Champions League clash against Real Madrid, acknowledging the Brazilian’s resilience and strength of character in the face of adversity.
In a recent interview, Saka was asked about Vinícius Jr. and didn’t hold back in his praise. “Vini Jr.? I know him as a player and his journey. He has had difficult times, but he has always shown that he can survive everything,” the England international said.
Saka’s comments come amid a wave of global appreciation for Vinícius Jr., who has not only dazzled fans with his on-field flair but also stood firm in the face of racist abuse and high-pressure expectations at one of the world’s biggest clubs.
However, the English winger refused to agree that Vini is much better than him.
“I don’t want to say they are a level above me because that’s not how I think,” Saka responded.
The winger ended by claiming he hopes to win the Ballon d’Or one day just like Vinicius.
“Yeah, [the Ballon d’Or] is a dream. I think it’s a dream for a lot of players. I am just working hard to do the best for my team,” Saka adds.
