EuroBasket 2025 saved its most explosive twists for the final day of the group stage. Spain’s crown slipped with a shock elimination at the hands of Giannis and Greece, Luka Dončić lit up the night with another masterclass, and Bosnia clawed their way into the knockouts.
Bosnia and Herzegovina 84–76 Georgia (Group C)
Bosnia punched their ticket to the knockout stage with a hard-fought win over Georgia. Jusuf Nurkic led by example, posting 15 points and 12 rebounds, while Bosnia rained in 14 three-pointers. Georgia battled back to tie it late, but Nurkic’s dominance in the paint sealed Bosnia’s place in the Round of 16.
Slovenia 106–94 Israel (Group D)
Luka Dončić once again stole the show, flirting with a triple-double as he exploded for 37 points, 11 rebounds, and 9 assists. Slovenia controlled the game early, survived a third-quarter wobble, and then saw Dončić bury clutch step-backs in the fourth to secure their third straight win and plenty of momentum heading into the knockouts.
Greece 90–86 Spain (Group C)
In the day’s biggest shock, defending champions Spain were sent packing. Giannis Antetokounmpo powered Greece with 25 points, 14 rebounds, and 9 assists, while Tyler Dorsey added 22 points on deadly three-point shooting. Spain kept it close, but Juancho Hernangómez’s missed free throws in the final seconds sealed their fate. Greece advance as group winners, Spain exit in heartbreak.
France 114–74 Iceland (Group D)
France cruised past Iceland in a statement win. Rising NBA star Zaccharie Risacher dropped 15 points on 75% shooting with 7 boards, while seven French players hit double figures. A dominant 66-point contribution from the bench underlined France’s depth as they move into the knockouts in commanding form.
Belgium 70–69 Poland (Group D)
Belgium edged out Poland in a nail-biting finish to wrap up the group stage. Neither side lit up the scoreboard, but Belgium held their nerve late to claim a narrow one-point win.
