Nigerian forward Stanley Iheanacho has completed a return to Danish Superliga side FC Midtjylland, signing a contract that will keep him at the club until the end of 2030.
The 21-year-old rejoins Midtjylland after spending the last two seasons with Portuguese club CD Mafra, where he scored 17 goals in 65 appearances.
Iheanacho is no stranger to FC Midtjylland, having previously developed within the club’s academy system before making the move to Mafra. During his time in Portugal, the Nigerian attacker gained valuable senior experience and established himself as a promising attacking talent.
FC Midtjylland Sporting Director Kristian Bak expressed his excitement about the player’s return, praising both his character and qualities on the pitch.
“Stanley is a fantastic person. He is very positive and cheerful, and as a player, he possesses exceptional pace. He is very dynamic in his style of play, constantly on the move, and aggressive in pressing opponents. He works hard and has the wonderful ability to score goals,” Bak told the club’s official website.
Iheanacho has already shown glimpses of his goalscoring ability in Midtjylland colours. In 2023, he made a memorable senior appearance in a Danish Cup match against Aabenraa, scoring four goals in just 77 minutes.
With FC Midtjylland expected to reshape their attack this summer, the return of Iheanacho could prove to be a significant addition as the Danish side prepares for the new season.
The transfer fee was not disclosed.
