The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the Super Eagles have joined fans across the globe in celebrating one of the nation’s most iconic footballers, Augustine “Jay Jay” Okocha, on his birthday today.
In a post shared on the team’s official social media accounts, the Super Eagles posted clips of Okocha in his playing days, with the caption;

So good, they had to name him twice ✨
Happy birthday to the magical Jay-Jay Okocha; a true Super Eagles legend. 💚.”

Okocha, who starred for the Super Eagles between 1993 and 2006, is widely regarded as one of Africa’s most skillful players. He won the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations, represented Nigeria at three FIFA World Cups, and played a pivotal role in the country’s gold medal triumph at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games.
Since retiring, Okocha has remained an influential figure in Nigerian football, inspiring a new generation of players and fans alike.
