Super Eagles-eligible striker Rio Ngumoha makes history with Liverpool

The young striker made history on Saturday afternoon in Liverpool's 4-0 win over Accrington Stanley in a FA Cup third round fixture

Rio Ngumoha Adigun made history with Liverpool on Saturday afternoon in the Reds 4-0 over Accrington Stanley at Anfield.

The 16-year-old became the youngest Liverpool player ever to start a FA Cup match.

Ngumoha in jersey number 73, started as a left-winger in Arne Slot’s traditional 4-2-3-1 set up against the visitors.

The forward got involved in play and almost had a shot on target in the first half.

The home fans were impressed with the performance of the 16-year-old as they gave him an ovation after his historic debut came to an end on the 72nd minute.

Ngumoha joined Liverpool from Chelsea academy last summer and impressed Arne Slot in training in recent weeks.

Since joining the Reds Ngumoha has provided four assists for Liverpool’s under-18s Premier League and the UEFA Youth League.

The explosive forward was born on August, 29 in 2008.
