Days after getting his maiden call-up to the Super Eagles of Nigeria, 26-year-old winger, Phillip Otele scored his debut goal for Hamburger SV.
Phillip Otele put the hosts ahead in the 19th minute with a shot after receiving a pass from William Mikelbrencis.
The goal marked his first for the club after joining on loan from Basel during the winter transfer window.
Otele finished the chance with brilliant composure – a testament to his prowess in front of goal being a wide forward.
Unfortunately, despite leading 2-0 till the half-hour mark, Borussia Dortmund sealed a dramatic comeback with a 3-2 win.
Algerian defender, Army Bensibiani scored from the penalty spot twice in 11 minutes while Sergou Guirassy got on the score sheet in the dramatic comeback win at the Signal Iduna Park.
Meanwhile, Phillip Otele join the Super Eagles ahead of Nigeria’s international friendlies against Iran and Jordan, scheduled for Antalya, Turkey, later this month.
