The Super Eagles of Nigeria observed their first training session yesterday in Abidjan ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Benin Republic.
The first session took place at the training pitch of the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium on Tuesday evening.
A total of 22 players took part of the session including Stanley Nwabali who arrived at the Super Eagles yesterday afternoon.
Coach Austin Eguavoen says he’s impressed with the level of commitment and fitness of the players after yesterday’s session.
Real Sociedad forward, Sadiq Umar is the only player expected to join the rest of the squad later today.
The Super Eagles are expected to continue training today as they prepare to take on the Cheetars of Benin Republic on Thursday.
The three-time African Champions top Group D with 10 points after 4 matches and only need a point to secure qualification for the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
