Michael Kayode, one of dual dual-nationality players Eric Chelle is eyeing for the Super Eagles, has penned down a four-year contract with Premier League, Brentford, bringing an end to his six-month loan spell.
The highly-rated Italian right-back joined the Bees from Fiorentina in the January transfer window and impressed Thomas Frank. Hence, his permanent signing.
Kayode joins Brentford on a four-year deal after the club activated his €17.5m buy clause in the loan agreement.
Fabrizio Romano, the popular football transfers expert, confirmed the move in a tweet on Monday.
Michael Kayode made twelve appearances in the Premier League, including six as a starter. The defender impressed in Brentford’s 4-3 win over Manchester United in May.
The defender won the Under-19 European Championship with Italy in 2023, scoring the only goal in the victory over Portugal.
Kayode Michael was born in Borgomanero, a municipality in the Province of Novara in the Italian region of Piedmont, to Nigerian parents on 10 July 2004.
