Super Falcons defender Michelle Alozie’s goal secured maximum points for Houston Dash over Gotham away from home on Sunday night in the US National Women’s Soccer League.
Michelle Alozie came off the bench to score in added time as Houston Dash bagged back-to-back wins after a poor run of form in the defender’s absence.
Esther Gonzalez Rodriguez gave the home side the lead nine minutes into the match as the Spanish forward bagged her 11th goal of the season.
Gotham dominated the first half but couldn’t double their lead having created three shots on target.
Emily Sonnet’s own goal six minutes into the second half leveled the scoreline giving the visitors a chance in the tie.
With less than a two minutes to the end of the tie, Michelle Alozie smartly beat the offside trap and powered a sublime right-footed strike into the top corner to secure the win for Houston Dash.
