Nigeria’s Super Falcons produced a six-goal masterclass to sweep aside Egypt 6-2 in Rabat, booking their place in the WAFCON 2026 quarter-finals with games to spare on their nerves.
Asisat Oshoala got the party started from the penalty spot in first-half stoppage time, and Gift Monday doubled the lead in the 55th minute to put the Falcons firmly in control.
Egypt pulled one back through a Ghazy penalty, but Nigeria brushed the response aside as Uchenna Kanu restored the two-goal cushion in the 81st minute.
Christy Ucheibe added a fourth from the spot three minutes later, putting the result beyond reasonable doubt before Ghazy’s second penalty briefly threatened a nervy finish.
Nigeria had other ideas. Rasheedat Ajibade slotted home a penalty in the ninth minute of stoppage time, and Joy Omewa piled on a sixth to complete the rout.
The win moves Nigeria into the last eight, where the ten-time African champions will now face Cameroon, winners of Group D.
Having stumbled to a shock opening defeat to Malawi, the Super Falcons have now roared back into form and turn their focus fully to the knockout stage in pursuit of an 11th continental crown.
