Gift Monday has been named La Liga F Player of the Month for February – a testament to her brilliant outing for Costa Adeje Tennerife over the past few weeks.

The Super Falcons striker beat fierce contenders to win the accolade. Gift Monday beat Athletic Bilbao’s Ane Azkona, Granada’s Ari Mingueza, and Eibar’s Elba Vergés, Real Madrid’s Alba Redondo, Barcelona’s Caroline Graham Hansen, Deportivo’s Ainhoa Marín to win the award.
The 23-year-old forward scored two goals in three La Liga matches to help her club side record two out of three La Liga F matches.
Gift Monday becomes the second Nigerian player to win the award after Rasheedat Ajibade won the inaugural award in September 2024.
The striker scored in six consecutive matches for Costa Adeje Tennerife between December 2024 and February 2025 as she continues to enjoy her third at he club.
Monday currently ranks third in the La Liga F goalscorers chart with 10 goals and 3 assists in 18 matches. Barcelona’s Ewa Pajor leads the chart by six goals while another Nigerian Edna Imade is four goals behind.
