Super Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi is reportedly on his way out of Nottingham Forest after falling down the pecking order.
Awoniyi, who was a key figure in Forest’s survival a couple of seasons ago, has struggled for a consistent starting spot, with Chris Wood remaining the first-choice striker for manager Nuno Espírito Santo.

The pressure on the Nigerian international has been compounded by several new arrivals, including £17m signing Igor Jesus and French forward Arnaud Kalimuendo, a £26m acquisition who finished as the third-highest scorer in Ligue 1 last season.
Having been an unused substitute in Forest’s opening Premier League game against Brentford, the 27-year-old is now reportedly considered surplus to requirements.
According to reports, Awoniyi has emerged as a potential target for Bundesliga club Werder Bremen. A return to the Bundesliga, where he previously played and was impressive for Union Berlin, could re-ignite his career.
