Arsenal legend Thierry Henry believes Barcelona have found a successor to Sergio Busquets following the club’s signing of Rodri from Manchester City.
Speaking to CBS Sports, Henry admitted he never expected to see another midfielder with Busquets’ qualities, but said watching Rodri has changed his view.
Henry highlighted the Spaniard’s tactical discipline, ability to control space and intelligence when pressing, while also praising his composure in possession.
According to Henry, Rodri’s presence significantly changes Barcelona’s structure when he is fully fit. He pointed to the Catalan side’s recent 5-0 victory over Valencia, noting that they did not concede a single counter-attack.

“I don’t know if he’s better than Busquets or not, because that’s a whole other discussion, but I never thought I’d see another Busquets,” Henry said.
“I’ve seen him, now I’m seeing another one. Busquets never won a Ballon d’Or, but neither did Xavi or Iniesta. What I’m trying to say is that this guy, if he’s fit and I hope he doesn’t get injured, completely transforms your team.
“They won 5-0 at the weekend in Valencia and didn’t concede a single counterattack. That’s what he brings to the table, that’s why this team will be so dangerous.”
