At least two Super Eagles players won’t be in the squad when the team take on the Amavubi of Rwanda in the final match of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualification series.

The Super Eagles are billed to host the Amavubi at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on Monday 18 November, 2024.

However, coach Austin Eguavoen will be without Nottingham Forest right-back Ola Aina who returned to the United Kingdom after the match against Benin Republic on Thursday.

Ola Aina who featured for about an hour in the one-all draw against the Cheetars, reportedly returned to England not due to injury but for personal reasons.

Stanley Nwabali has been excused from the team following the death of his father on Friday. The goalkeeper was granted permission to go mourn his father.

Nevertheless, report suggest that Nwabali will be at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on Monday to cheer his teammates against Rwanda.

Fisayo Dele-Bashiru passed a late fitness test after suffering from a knock before the match against the Cheetars.

The Lazio attacking midfielder is expected to be on the bench against Rwanda on Monday as he recovers.

The Super Eagles have already secured qualification for AFCON 2025 but would look to round off the series with a win over Rwanda who desperately need maximum points.
