The 2025 summer transfer window proved historic for Nigerian footballers, with big-money deals and career-defining moves across Europe.
From record fees to strategic career switches, here are the standout transfers.
1. Victor Osimhen — (Napoli → Galatasaray)
The headline move of the window saw Victor Osimhen complete a €75 million transfer from Napoli to Galatasaray, smashing the Turkish Super Lig transfer record.
The Super Eagles striker signed a four-year contract worth €15 million annually, plus lucrative bonuses. Napoli also secured 10% of any future profit from his next move.
2. Tolu Arokodare — (Genk → Wolves)

Deadline day delivered drama as Wolves landed Tolu Arokodare from Belgian side Genk for a fee reported around £24 million (€27 million).
The 23-year-old, who won the 2024/25 Belgian Pro League Golden Boot with 21 goals, became Genk’s most expensive outgoing player ever.
Standing at 6ft 6in, Arokodare’s physicality and finishing make him a key addition to Wolves’ frontline under Gary O’Neil. He penned a four-year deal with an option for a fifth.
3. Wilfred Ndidi — (Leicester City → Beşiktaş)

After nearly a decade at Leicester, Wilfred Ndidi embraced a fresh chapter with Turkish giants Beşiktaş. The midfield enforcer joined for around €9.5 million on a three-year contract, bringing Premier League experience and steel to the Black Eagles’ midfield.
4. Moses Simon — (Nantes → Paris FC)

Moses Simon sealed a €7 million switch from Nantes to Paris FC, newly promoted to Ligue 1. At 30, the winger’s move is seen as both a leadership step and an ambitious signing for Paris FC, who are keen to establish themselves among France’s elite.
5. Chidozie Awaziem — (Colorado Rapids → Nantes)

Defender Chidozie Awaziem returned to Europe from Major League Soccer, joining Nantes on a three-year deal. His experience across Portugal, Spain, and Turkey makes him a steady reinforcement for the French club.
