Super Falcons star Francisca Ordega has once again shown her commitment to community development by commissioning and handing over two boreholes to residents of Tse Mue and Ato Mbaavarakaa Council Ward in Mbatiav, Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State.
The Nigerian international made the announcement on her social media pages, revealing that the projects were undertaken to tackle the persistent lack of access to clean water in her hometown.
“Access to water has been a significant challenge in my community. As God could have it, I’m opportune to step in and help with the little I can,” she wrote.
The former Atlético Madrid forward added that giving back has always been a personal responsibility, regardless of the scale of her contributions.
“Like I always say, gold I don’t have, nor silver, but the little I have, I make sure it gets to the right places,” she added.
Ordega, one of Nigeria’s most accomplished female footballers, has represented the Super Falcons at several FIFA Women’s World Cups, Olympic Games, and Women’s Africa Cup of Nations tournaments. However, beyond her exploits on the pitch, the 32-year-old has consistently used her platform to support causes aimed at improving the lives of people in her community.
The newly commissioned boreholes are expected to provide a sustainable source of clean water for hundreds of residents in Tse Mue and Ato Mbaavarakaa, significantly easing a burden that has persisted for years.
Her latest act of generosity has drawn praise from fans and well-wishers, further highlighting the positive impact Nigerian athletes continue to make off the field.
At a time when many rural communities across Nigeria continue to grapple with inadequate access to basic amenities, Ordega’s intervention serves as a reminder that meaningful change often begins with individuals willing to give back.
