Tottenham end winless streak but remain relegation-bound after Westham’s late winner

Tottenham Hotspur secured a narrow win away at already-relegated Wolverhampton Wanderers to end their 15-game winless streak in the league.

Portuguese midfielder João Palhinha scored in the 82nd minute from a Richarlison assist to help Roberto De Zerbi’s men with their first league win of the year.

Palhinha fired a shot into the bottom right corner of the goal after receiving a fine pass from the Brazilian winger.

It was a game of few chances, as the North London club played to avoid dropping points, while the hosts played for pride.

Antonin Kinsky made a brilliant save late in the game to secure maximum points for Tottenham as João Gomes almost grabbed an equaliser.

Despite the win, Tottenham Hotspur remains in the drop zone courtesy of Westham’s late winner over Everton at the London Stadium.
