Super Eagles captain, William Troost-Ekong has announced that the Troost-Ekong Foundation (TEF) will host its 2025 Charity Football Match in Lagos on June 22, 2025.
The event aims to raise funds for the foundation’s youth empowerment initiatives, including the development of a Sports & Skills Academy in Akwa Ibom State.

The charity match is expected to feature a blend of top athletes, celebrities, and community leaders, uniting for a day of football and philanthropy.
Proceeds from the event will directly support TEF’s ongoing projects focused on sports, education, and community development.
“The Charity Football Match is a celebration of giving back,” said Troost-Ekong. “It’s an opportunity for us to unite and raise vital funds to support our mission. We are looking forward to an unforgettable event in Lagos.”
In addition to announcing the upcoming match, the foundation has released a documentary titled FOUNDATIONS, now available on YouTube.
The film highlights the foundation’s work in empowering young Nigerians through sports and education, showcasing stories of youth in Akwa Ibom State whose lives have been transformed by TEF’s initiatives.
The TEF Sports & Skills Academy, a key project of the foundation, is set to provide young people with athletic training, educational resources, and essential life skills.
“We are committed to creating a space where young people can excel in both sports and academics, empowering them to become future leaders and role models,” Troost-Ekong emphasized.

The 2025 Charity Football Match follows the success of the foundation’s inaugural event in Uyo, which featured notable figures such as Kelechi Iheanacho, Vincent Enyeama, and Ahmed Musa, alongside celebrities like Ebuka Obi-Uchendu and Falz.
The match not only entertained fans but also raised awareness for the foundation’s mission.
