European football governing body (UEFA) has confirmed Munich and Barcelona as hosts for the next two Champions League finals.
The 2028 Champions League final will be played at the Allianz Arena in Munich, while Barcelona’s Camp Nou will host the 2029 final. The UEFA Executive Committee made the decisions at its meeting in Thessaloniki on Tuesday, following a bidding process.
Munich earns hosting rights for the third time in history having previously staged the 2012 and 2025 finals. The Bavarian club will now watch its own arena host Europe’s biggest club match for a third occasion in under two decades.
Barcelona’s home ground will stage an European final after a long wait. Camp Nou will host the competition’s showpiece for the first time since 1999, giving the newly renovated stadium a marquee event to mark its return to prominence.
UEFA continues to rotate the final among Europe’s most storied venues. The pattern favors clubs with strong infrastructure and proven capacity to handle the tournament’s scale, security demands, and global broadcast requirements.
Spain already holds the 2027 final at Atlético Madrid’s Riyadh Air Metropolitano, meaning the country will host the showpiece twice within three years. The venue previously hosted the final of the 2019 edition as Liverpool beat Tottenham 2-0 to win their sixth title.
