Cristiano Ronaldo says Lamine Yamal needs to be given a breathing space after Spain lost to Portugal in the UEFA Nations League final.
Ronaldo had earlier advised that the 17-year-old Spanish forward should be allowed to grow without putting pressure on him.
After the final, Ronaldo told Yamal he had a long career ahead of him and he’s going to win a lot of trophies.
However, he once again asked that the boy be allowed to grow and focus on his game in a post match comments.
“Lamine is going to win a lot of collective and individual titles. He’s a phenomenon”.
“He’ll have a long career and he’s going to win a lot of Nations Leagues”.
“He’s 17… Please, leave him alone. I have to ask you to let him be. He has to be calm”.
The first-ever meeting between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lamine Yamal ended in victory for the football legend as Portugal beat Spain to win their second UEFA Nations League.
Ronaldo scored in the two-all draw but was substituted in the second half as Portugal edged Spain on penaties 5-3.
