Valencia CF has officially announced the signing of Nigerian striker, Sadiq Umar on loan from Real Sociedad until June 30, 2025.
The agreement includes an option for Valencia to purchase Sadiq at the end of the season, with the buyout clause estimated between €8 million and €10 million.
Valencia will pay approximately €1 million for the loan period.
Sadiq, 27, completed his medical examination and was presented at the Mestalla Stadium, where he expressed enthusiasm about joining the team.
He stated, “I chose Valencia because we share the same hunger to win.”
Valencia’s head coach, Carlos Corberán, anticipates that Sadiq will bolster the team’s attacking options, especially given recent challenges with other forwards.
Sadiq’s debut could come as early as the upcoming Copa del Rey match against Eldense.
Sadiq’s career includes stints at clubs such as Almería and Partizan, with notable performances that have highlighted his goal-scoring abilities.
His move to Valencia represents an opportunity to revitalize his career after limited playing time at Real Sociedad this season.
Valencia fans are hopeful that Sadiq’s arrival will enhance the team’s offensive capabilities as they strive to improve their standing in La Liga.
