Victor Boniface played a minor role as Bayer Leverkusen poor run of form in recent games continued across all competitions.

After the horror show at Liverpool in mideek, the latest episode was at Bochum in the German Bundesliga as the champions played a one-all draw.

Despite leading for most parts of the match, Xabi Alonso’s side gave up their lead on the 90th minute after much pressure from the home side.

Patrick Schick gave the champions the lead on the 18th minute after receiving a beautiful pass in the box.

The Czech Republic striker kept his compure before burying the ball which ricochet off the right post.

The champions created two shots on targets in the first half but failed to convert as they head into the half with a slim lead.

Bayer Leverkusen didnt create much in the second half as they had just one shot on target.

Bochum also had one shot on target in the second half and it led to the equalizer unfortunately, for Bayer Leverkusen.

Koji Miyoshi found himself in space in the box and pounced on a rebound which gave the home side a point against the defending champions.

Victor Boniface who came on for Patrick Schick had little or no impact in the game as his scoreless run extends to four matches in all competition.

Bayer Leverkusen are now winless at Bochum in three visits.

The 23-year-old striker will look to get back to scoring form during the international break as the Super Eagles of Nigeria take on Benin Republic and Rwanda in the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on 14th and 18th of November,  2024 respectively.
