On January 18, 2025, during the Misfits 20 boxing event in Manchester, YouTuber-turned-boxer KSI and former England footballer Wayne Bridge engaged in a heated confrontation.
The altercation arose when KSI taunted Bridge with a remark referencing past allegations involving Bridge’s ex-partner, Vanessa Perroncel, and former teammate John Terry. This provocation led to a physical exchange between KSI and Bridge, necessitating intervention from security personnel.
Initially, the confrontation was perceived as a promotional tactic for an upcoming boxing match between KSI and Bridge, scheduled for March 29, 2025.
However, today, Wayne Bridge announced his withdrawal from the bout. In a public statement, Bridge expressed that KSI’s personal comments had “crossed a line,” influencing his decision to pull out of the fight.
Bridge emphasized that his initial agreement to the match was driven by a desire to challenge himself and pursue his passion for boxing.
Nonetheless, the personal nature of KSI’s remarks led him to prioritize his family’s well-being over the scheduled fight. Bridge conveyed gratitude to his supporters and hinted at exploring new challenges in 2025.
As of now, KSI has not issued a public response to Bridge’s withdrawal. The Misfits Boxing organization has yet to announce a replacement opponent for KSI in the upcoming event.
