Super Eagles and Nantes winger Moses Simon has extended a warm welcome to the new head coach of Nigeria’s national team Eric Chelle.
This move comes after Augustine Eguavoen’s stint as interim coach, during which he successfully led the team to qualification for the 2025 AFCON tournament in Morocco.
The players are already extending a warm welcome to the new coach. Moses Simon, one of the nation’s star players took to his official X account to welcome Chelle, writing, “Bienvenue au Nigéria” which translates to “Welcome to Nigeria.”
The Super Eagles are facing a tough challenge in their quest to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. After four games, they are still without a win and sit fifth in their qualification group, which includes Benin Republic, Lesotho, Zimbabwe, South Africa, and Rwanda.
The hope is that Chelle can turn things around for the team.
