Eric Chelle’s appointment as the new Super Eagles coach continues to divide opinions among fans online.
The 47-year-old French-Ivorian coach takes over from Austin Eguavoen as the head coach of the three-time African champions.
While fans online are debating whether or not the former Malian coach is good enough to lead the team, little attention has been paid to his contract and how much he would earn monthly.
The Nigeria Football Federation did not mention what the former MC Oranc Coach will earn neither did they stipulate the full terms of his contract in its statement on Tuesday.
According to a source, Eric Chelle is set to earn $50,000 per month while his two assistants will earn $5,000 each.
Sources also say Chelle was given a short-term contract with the sole aim of qualifying the Super Eagles for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
He is also expected to oversee the CHAN Eagles as they prepare for the African Nations Championship next month in Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda.
Eric Chelle and his team will arrive in Nigeria next week to sign their contracts in Abuja where they would be unveiled and presented to the media and stakeholders.
