New AC Milan signing Luka Modrić has revealed his reasons for joining the Serie A giants from Real Madrid.
The veteran midfielder, who recently left Real Madrid after their Club World Cup exit, signed a one-year deal with Milan and will wear the No. 14 shirt in the upcoming season.

Explaining his decision, Modrić said (via MadridXtra), “Why AC Milan? I wanted to stay in Europe, continue playing competitive football.
“I had some other offers, but when Milan showed up, it was clear for me. I was up to it from the first moment. It impressed me how they came to Croatia to present me with the project and everything.
“That was very important to me. Milan is one of the biggest clubs in Europe.”
Modric, a former Ballon d’Or winner, clearly believes he can still contribute at the highest level and is expected to play some part in Milan’s pre-season friendly against Arsenal next Wednesday.
