Wrexham AFC have made history by becoming the first club ever to achieve three consecutive promotions through the top five tiers of English football.
Their remarkable journey continued this season, culminating in a promotion to the Championship, the second tier of English football, following their promotion to League One just a year earlier.
In the 2022/2023 season, the club earned a promotion to League Two, marking the beginning of what has now been an unprecedented rise.
With a mix of solid team performance and dynamic management, Wrexham’s charge up the English football pyramid continued the following season as they secured promotion to League One in the 2023/2024 campaign.
This year, in the 2024/2025 season, Wrexham’s incredible ascent was sealed with their third straight promotion, this time to the Championship.
This achievement is not only a historic first in English football but also a testament to the club’s resilience, strong squad development, and the strategic direction set by co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

Since their takeover in 2020, Wrexham’s fortunes have been transformed. The club’s rise is not only a remarkable sporting feat but also a story of cultural and community revival, as they have drawn global attention and a new fanbase from around the world.
With the club now poised for life in the Championship, Wrexham will look to continue their dream run in English football’s second tier, with hopes of securing another promotion to the Premier League in the coming years.
