The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, the first to feature 32 teams, has already drawn global attention — not only for its historic scale, but also for the intensity of its group stage.
Among the eight groups, three stand out as particularly fierce and unforgiving.

Group B (PSG, Atlético Madrid, Botafogo, Seattle Sounders)
This is being widely labeled the ultimate “Group of Death.” It includes PSG and Atlético Madrid, both seasoned Champions League contenders, alongside Botafogo, the newly crowned Copa Libertadores champions, and Seattle Sounders, the top team from CONCACAF and tournament hosts.
Every match in this group is expected to be fiercely contested. PSG and Atlético bring immense European pedigree and star power, but Botafogo’s recent South American form and Seattle’s home advantage could easily lead to upsets.
Group H (Real Madrid, Al Hilal, RB Salzburg, Pachuca)
This group reunites Real Madrid and Al‑Hilal, who met in the 2022 final, and adds in Red Bull Salzburg and Pachuca.

Real Madrid, the tournament’s most successful club, is the clear favorite, but Al‑Hilal’s continued investment in international stars makes them a formidable opponent.
Salzburg, with its high-intensity youth-driven style, and Pachuca, a CONCACAF powerhouse, ensure that every game will be high-stakes.
Group G (Manchester City, Juventus, Wydad AC, Al Ain)
This group rounds out the top three toughest groups. Manchester City and Juventus headline the group, offering a clash between tactical brilliance and Italian defensive steel.
Wydad AC, African champions from Morocco, and Al Ain, previous Club World Cup finalists from the UAE, add further complexity.
City are expected to dominate, but the fight for second place is expected to be one of the most tightly contested in the tournament.
